Is it for you

Buy it if

  • Feeding a family from one basket instead of running two rounds
  • A first air fryer where the outlay matters more than the finish
  • Wide, shallow loads — a single layer of wings, fries, or vegetables

Skip it if

  • You want the set temperature to be the temperature the food sees
  • Prying the crisper plate out after every cook will wear on you
  • Quiet operation matters even slightly

The basket is wide and shallow rather than deep, and that is the best thing about this machine even though no specification says it. Air frying is limited by surface area, not volume, so a squat basket puts more food in a single layer than a tall one of the same stated capacity. A tray of wings comes out evenly here where a deep six-quart unit would have steamed the middle of the pile. Buy it for the shape, not the number.

It runs cool. Reviewer measurements put it well under the temperature shown on the panel — enough to matter on anything timed from a recipe. In practice you set it higher than the instruction says or you add a few minutes, and after a fortnight you stop thinking about it. It is a real flaw with an easy workaround, which is roughly the summary of the whole appliance.

Cleaning is where the savings show up daily. The crisper plate sits tight in the basket and comes out awkwardly, and oil collects in the corners of the tray where a cloth does not reach. Both parts survive the dishwasher, so this is friction rather than failure, but it is friction that recurs after every meal and it is the most common reason owners report using it less over time.

The housing is thin, and thin housings resonate with the fan instead of damping it. Between that and a large chamber that needs velocity to crisp, this is among the more intrusive machines in the category, and there is no documented way to silence the end-of-cycle alert.

Coverage runs a year against three from the premium brands, which is the manufacturer’s own honest statement about how long the thing is expected to last. The coated basket will wear through before anything mechanical does, as it does on every machine in this class, and replacement baskets are harder to find here than they are for the volume sellers.

None of that changes why people buy it. It feeds four people in one go for what a four-quart unit costs, and no amount of finish elsewhere in this category solves that particular problem as cheaply.
