Is it for you

Buy it if

  • The grime line along your baseboards never seems to go away
  • You want maximum spec for the money and will manage the trade-offs

Skip it if

  • You need a fast local repair rather than a mail-in one
  • App stability and translation quality bother you

The mop pad slides sideways out of the chassis when the robot tracks a wall, extending past the body to reach the baseboard line. That reads like a marketing detail until you ask why people still mop by hand after buying a robot. It is almost always the edges, because a round or square chassis cannot put a spinning pad where the floor meets the wall.

Specification numbers here are the most aggressive in this comparison, and they are real, not inflated. Suction, mop pressure, and dock functions all sit at or near the top of the category. Dreame did not save money on the hardware.

It saved on software and support. The app has improved substantially over successive updates and still carries awkward translations and occasional connection failures that owners deal with by restarting the router. Service matters more, and service runs through the manufacturer as a mail-in RMA. A repair means packing the machine, shipping it, and waiting, which for a device that runs daily is a different proposition from a service centre visit.

Large water tanks in the dock are good for run length, and they leave the dock occupying more floor area than the robot’s footprint suggests. The extending mop mechanism adds a moving part to the wettest, dirtiest part of the machine, which is where longer-term wear concentrates.

Long baseboard runs and hard floors are where this does something the competition does not. Where dependable service outranks capability, it is the wrong machine.
