Fujifilm X-T3

Dials on top, 10-bit 4K inside, and the X-T4's sensor for a lot less. It gives up stabilization.

Used mirrorless bodies that still earn their keep — #2

Is it for you

Buy it if

  • You like setting shutter speed and ISO on physical dials before the camera is even on
  • Video matters and you want 10-bit footage without paying for a newer body
  • You want a smaller kit, and APS-C lenses are part of the appeal

Skip it if

  • You shoot handheld in low light with unstabilized primes
  • Battery life is a sore point, since one NP-W126S rarely lasts a full day

The X-T3 and X-T4 share the same sensor and processor. The X-T4 adds in-body stabilization, a flip-out screen, and a bigger battery. For stills on a tripod or with stabilized zooms, the X-T3 delivers the same files for noticeably less on the used market.

The dial-driven controls are the reason people buy into Fujifilm at all, and the X-T3 has the full set: shutter speed, ISO, and exposure compensation on top, with aperture on the lens. If that way of shooting appeals to you, nothing on this list matches it.

The small NP-W126S battery is the daily irritation. Owners routinely carry two or three spares. Fujifilm’s firmware updates after launch improved autofocus tracking noticeably, so check that the seller has updated it, or update it yourself on day one.

The tilting screen doesn’t face forward, so anyone filming themselves will want a different body.

Check the firmware version in the listing photos or ask. Later firmware improved face and eye detection noticeably, and updating is free.
