Is it for you

Buy it if

  • Your first monitor arm, for a standard 24 to 27 inch screen
  • Thick desktops that some clamps cannot open wide enough for

Skip it if

  • Tidy cable routing matters to you
  • You want an arm that will still hold tension a decade from now

PCWorld named this its best single-monitor arm at the budget end, and Fstoppers praised how smoothly the gas spring moves. For what it costs, the part that matters works.

Both reviewers found fault in the same place. The plastic cable covers are finicky, cable management is limited, and the Fstoppers sample arrived with a damaged piece of trim. None of it affects how the arm holds a screen. All of it affects how the desk looks from behind.

The clamp opens wider than most, to about 3.5 inches, so thick butcher-block tops that stop other clamps are fine here.

The gas strut is the durability question. Gas springs can lose pressure over years of use, unlike the mechanical springs in the Ergotron and Humanscale arms, and a strut that weakens lets the monitor sag. The warranty runs up to five years, which covers the early part of that.
