Click noise dropped by roughly ninety percent and sensor resolution went to 8,000 DPI. That is the whole of the 3S revision, a targeted fix and not a redesign. The higher resolution matters for high-resolution and multi-monitor setups where the older sensor forced high acceleration. Shape, weight, battery, and thumb wheel are unchanged, so owners of the 3 rarely upgrade and buyers of either get the same ergonomics.

Nothing else replicates the magnetic scroll wheel properly. A flick spins it freely through a thousand-row spreadsheet, and the ratchet re-engages automatically when you slow down. Anyone who works in long documents or large sheets stops noticing it within a week and misses it immediately on any other mouse.

The thumb area does more than it appears to. A horizontal wheel handles sideways scrolling in sheets and timelines, and a gesture button turns thumb movement into window management — the single most useful customisation most people never set up.

This is a large mouse with a high hump, engineered for a palm grip. Small hands, claw grips, and fingertip grips all fight it, and no amount of software fixes a shape mismatch. Left-handed users are out entirely; there is no mirrored version.

Battery runs for around seventy days per charge, it charges over USB-C, and it stays fully usable while plugged in. Three devices can be paired with switching on a button underneath, and Flow moves the cursor between machines as though they were one desktop.
