Is it for you
Buy it if
- Spreadsheets and long documents, where the free-spinning wheel earns its keep
- Three computers and one mouse
- You share a room and the old model's click was too loud
Skip it if
- Small hands — this is a large, high-backed shape
- You want a symmetrical shape for left-handed use
The magnetic scroll wheel remains the feature nothing else replicates properly: a flick spins it freely through a thousand-row sheet, and it re-engages the ratchet when you slow down. The 3S revision cut click noise by about ninety percent, which was the single most common complaint about the 3.
It is a big mouse with a high hump, tuned for a palm grip. If you use a claw or fingertip grip, or your hands are small, this shape fights you.
