Skip it if

  • You want a lid you can fully dismantle to clean

Put your mouth on one part of the cap and you get a built-in straw, so you can sip without tilting the bottle. Put it on the other and you get a wide chug opening for drinking fast or dropping in ice. Same lid, nothing to swap or misplace.

That two-way lid is the whole product, and it settles an annoyance nobody else addressed properly. The push-button lock is the other detail that matters: it holds the cap shut positively, so the bottle goes into a bag with a laptop without the low-grade anxiety that accompanies most straw lids.

Insulation is solid. Ice survives a working day comfortably, short of the outright best in this group, and the powder-coated finish resists chipping reasonably well.

Mechanism is the trade. More parts mean more places for residue to collect and more components that can fail, and the gasket and spout are the usual culprits. The lid does not fully dismantle, so deep cleaning is harder than with a simple screw cap, and that is the most common reason these eventually start to smell.

The straw is replaceable and sold separately, worth knowing before a cracked one gets treated as a dead bottle.

The mouth opening is narrow enough that standard-sized ice cubes fit and larger ones do not, which catches out people who bought it specifically for the wide opening.
