  • One person carrying it, loaded, some distance

  • Group trips — this fills faster than you expect
  • The premium is hard to justify at this size

Bottles stand upright in this one. The redesign made it taller and narrower than the cooler it replaced, which sounds cosmetic and is not: nothing has to lie down, usable space changes accordingly, and the footprint slots behind a seat or into a boot corner where the older shape would not go.

The single strap handle is the other good decision. Loaded, this can be carried in one hand for a reasonable distance. No rotomolded cooler above this size can say that.

Construction matches the larger models — rotomolded shell, thick foam, gasketed lid — so durability did not shrink along with the capacity.

At this size the premium is at its hardest to justify. Plenty of inexpensive coolers keep ice for the day or two that a 24-quart box realistically gets used for, and the money buys build, not retention. That is a defensible purchase if the cooler is going to take abuse, and a poor one if it lives in a garage between summer barbecues.

Capacity fills faster than people expect. Twenty-four quarts with enough ice to work properly holds noticeably less food and drink than the number implies, since retention figures only hold up at a good ice-to-contents ratio.

The latch is a single rubber T-catch, simpler than the larger models and slightly less positive.
